UPDATE: The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office provided information Monday on Sunday’s two midday accidents in Edgecomb. In the first one, at Routes 1 and 27, two of the drivers, Timothy Badgley, 59, of Bristol and Roger Nole, 67, of Methuen, Massachusetts, were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Sheriff’s Lt. Brendan Kane said.

John Haworth, 52, of Newburyport, Massachusetts, was turning onto Route 1 southbound in a 2006 Ford Explorer and failed to see the 2008 Dodge that Badgley was driving northbound, Kane said. The Dodge struck the Explorer, which then rotated into a 2012 Lexus sitting in southbound traffic, Kane said. Nole was driving the Lexus, Kane said. The accident was reported at 11:30 a.m.

No one was hurt in the other accident, at Route 27 and Eddy Road, Sgt. Mark Bridgham said. It was reported at 12:02 p.m. and involved a 2016 Nissan Versa driven by Nicole Pelizza, 23, of Dover, New Hampshire, and a 2004 Buick driven by Russell Nelson, 68, of Topsham. No further details were available yet.

Original post: Edgecomb Fire Chief Roy Potter said the department was called to two accidents, one with minor injuries, within a short time Sunday, just as Stoney’s Memorial Run was coming into town from Wiscasset.

“We got them through OK,” he said about the motorcyclists. The group arrived around noon, shortly after a three-vehicle crash occurred at Routes 1 and 27. Potter said one person in the accident was taken to a hospital and all injuries were minor.

Wiscasset Ambulance Service and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department also responded. Boothbay firefighter David Steinmetz, who was in the area, stopped to help with traffic, Potter said.

Traffic was reduced to one lane, Potter said. The second accident, at Route 27 and Eddy Road, involved two vehicles and had no injuries, Potter said. Traffic was reduced to one lane there, as well.
