Boothbay Harbor Police Chief Bob Hasch reports that an automobile driven by Nicholas Morley, 16, East Boothbay, struck a 74-year-old Boothbay Harbor man in the Boothbay Region YMCA parking lot on Feb. 13 at 3:30 p.m.

Hasch said Morley was operating at slow speed but failed to notice the man crossing the parking lot. Officer Larry Brown and Chief Hasch responded to the scene minutes after the accident, as did Boothbay Region Ambulance Service. The victim suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Miles Memorial Hospital, where he was released after medical treatment.

Hasch said the department is working with the District Attorney’s Office and the victim to reach an appropriate resolution to the incident.
