Positives and negatives

    Dear Editor:

I would like to express my opinions about all the commotion of the changes of our wonderful town. I thought the roundabout was a big waste of money – until I realized there were several bad accidents. A roundabout is an easy way to reverse direction without possibly causing another accident. The roundabout is so pretty with all the plants and antique lights. I hate to say it but I like it.

Other things I didn’t like to see change was the Kenniston Inn being moved from its original property. I think Mr. Coulombe could have made the inn a historical building and have tours.

Mr. Coulombe’s golf course building is a marvel, one of a kind, really.

Another thing that bothered me about this town was driving out Burger King and making the building a laundromat and car wash.

Last, but most important, making our hospital a triage.

The Botanical Gardens is a plus for our region. It’s beautiful throughout the year, especially winter with its light show, which is beyond heavenly.

I think if Mr. Coulombe wants to buy up businesses and make improvements, it is all right by me. I’m sure other people feel the same way. Leave the past alone – make improvements and invest well for our town’s future.

All in all, the Boothbay region is one of the loveliest spots in the state of Maine.
