Musician Rob Duquette will perform twice in one day at the Chocolate Church Arts Center  Saturday, Feb. 9. at 3 and 7:30 p.m. once with Amanda Panda and later with the band Duquette.

The 3 p.m. show with Amanda Panda will have children laughing, singing, and dancing with joy. Amanda Panda is a puppet created by Amanda Parkhurst who sings with Dan Duquette. “She's a kid magnet, I've never seen anyone else so naturally good with them!” said Duquette. Parkhurst’s  music revolves around themes of mindfulness, compassion, family, friends, kindness, and silliness. The pair have performed and recorded music together.  Be prepared for songs  filled with fun stories and memorable lyrics. For more on Parkhurst, visit https://amandapandamusic.com. Tickets for Rob Duquette w/ Amanda Panda are $5 for children under 12, $10 for adults.

Duquette is much more than a children’s musician and adult audiences will have the unique opportunity to be blown away by his eclectic mix of contemporary alternative music based on his prolific studies of African-American, North American and African music. He will be performing selections from his recently released album “This Time,” that reveal the depths of his songwriting, and musical prowess.

Rob Duquette – founder and leader of the band Duquette– has made his career since the mid-1990’s as a well respected, in-demand sideman, most notably as a member of Jonathan Edwards’ touring band. He has also regularly played with other notables like Jack Sonni (Dire Straits) and the legendary composer David Amram over the past 15 years. Duquette has been on a national solo tour for much of 2018 and will continue this into 2019.  The band consists of Jake Sturtevant on the keys, John Kumnick on the bass with guitarist Dave Gutter, the bandleader of Rustic Overtones. These musicians have worked with the likes of David Bowie, Cindy Lauper, and Aaron Neville to name a few.

Tickets for Duquette at 7:30 p.m. are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. They are available online www.chocolatechurcharts.org or by calling the box office 207-442-8455.
