Ronald Charles Schlemmer, 79, of Naples, Florida and Southport, Maine passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Aug. 25, 2018.

Ron was born on July 20, 1939 in Staten Island, New York. He graduated from Lehigh University in 1960. He was the owner of Star Pontiac Corp on Staten Island, and a longtime resident of Warren, New Jersey, until his retirement in 1996.

He was very involved in civic organizations such as the Greater Naples Leadership Council and the Great Decisions Study Group. He was an ardent fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity of Collier County, and was honored by the organization for his fundraising efforts. He was an avid golfer and a world traveler.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Elizabeth; his sister, Judy Livingston of Fairfax Station, Virginia; his three daughters, Cindy Lombardi of Granby, Connecticut, Deanna Dodge of Nesconset, New York and Jodi (Vince) Osisek of Columbia, South Carolina. He was a wonderful and loving “Pop” to his six grandchildren Jillian, Kristen, PJ, Devon, Andy and Timmy. His family was the greatest joy of his life.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Naples United Church of Christ followed by a celebration of life at Colliers Reserve Country Club.
