Rotary club celebrates local artists June 13

Mon, 06/10/2019 - 1:30pm

On Thursday, June 13 from 5 to 7 p.m., the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club will host a reception open to the public to celebrate our local artists who have been exhibiting their work at the club.

This events marks the one year anniversary of Rotary’s art installations. At the reception each artist will exhibit two works, a preview of upcoming shows that give each feature artist a two month stint at the club. The reception is co-sponsored by the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce and the Boothbay Region Art Foundation.

The past year’s shows included the works of Sally Giddings Smith, June Elderkin, Helen Farnham, Tony van Hasselt, Bruce MacDonald, John and Lynn Seitzer, and Robert McKay. Many will continue into the coming year, and new artists will be invited to exhibit their work as well.

Rotary is committed to supporting the local art community and giving the public opportunities to view their works all while greatly enhancing the clubhouse itself.

Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic punch will be served, and the full bar will be open. A voluntary contribution of $5 helps Rotary in its efforts to support other community organizations and causes.
