Seacoast Community Orchestras fall concert
The Seacoast Community Orchestras will hold their fall concert on Tuesday evening, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln Theater. This free performance will feature local musicians of all ages.
All are invited to attend and celebrate this concert performed by our exceptionally talented friends and neighbors. Among the pieces performed will be the premiere of a composition by local student, Benjamin Rosenthal. Other works include themes from “Pirates of the Caribbean,” a “Symphonic Tryptic” by Mozart, Beethoven, Prokofiev and Brahams, “Concerto Grosso” by Scarletti (featuring a solo by Helen Newell), a serenade by Shubert, and a piece by Arthur Foote.
The more advanced Mezza and Avanzata orchestras are directed by Ferdinand Liva of the Daponte String Quartet; and the Primo Orchestra is directed by Kaity Newell, director of the Great Salt Bay Community School Strings Program.
String players at all levels and ages are encouraged to be a part of one or more of the Seacoast Community Orchestras. Rehearsals are on Tuesday afternoons at Great Salt Bay Community School. Brass and woodwind musicians are invited to join for the spring season when symphonic pieces are performed.
The Lincoln Theater is located at 2 Theater St., Damariscotta.
