The Seahawks registered two more one-sided wins this past week – at home against Hall-Dale and in Bethel against Telstar – to improve to 12-1. At press time, Boothbay was ranked third in Class C North, as the Dexter Tigers, also 12-1, jumped to second place with a recent win over Class B’s Foxcroft Academy. Winthrop (12-1-1) remains in first place and has completed the regular season. Its only loss was a 1-0 win by Boothbay at Winthrop last week. Boothbay was scheduled to complete its season on Wednesday, Oct. 11 with a rescheduled game against Spruce Mountain.

Boothbay 10 Hall-Dale 1

Senior Sydney Meader scored four goals, three unassisted, and senior Kayla Lewis scored two goals as Boothbay (11-1) crushed the visiting Hall-Dale Bulldogs, 10-1, at home Oct. 4 on a day the coaches and administrators honored the team’s seniors, playing their last officially scheduled home game, and their parents.

Hall-Dale (3-10) fell behind 3-0 before three minutes had expired. Boothbay never let up, taking a 6-0 lead into halftime. The Seahawks added two more goals early in the second half before Lauren Hendrickson scored the Bulldogs’ only goal to make it 8-1. BRHS Coach Donna Jordan, who was also honored before the game for amassing 300 wins in her hall of fame career — being only one of six high school coaches in the state to get that many wins – substituted freely throughout the second half, letting players try several different positions. 

Besides the goals from Meader and Lewis, sophomore Chloe Arsenault scored two and seniors Page Brown and Sydney Mercier each scored one goal. Lewis, Brown, Mercier and senior Jo Shaw also had assists.

Boothbay 10 Telstar 0

In Bethel on Oct. 6, Meader scored five goals to lead the Seahawks to their 12th win of the season, 10-0; Arsenault (2), Mercier, Page Brown, and Cortney Meader also scored for Boothbay.

In an email from Coach Jordan, she said that Boothbay had 35 shots on goal and 16 penalty corners. Telstar had no shots on goal and zero penalty corners.
