Sixteen teams compete in Windjammer Scramble

    The Boothbay Harbor Country Club was the setting for the Windjammer Days golf tournament, dubbed the 2017 Windjammer Scramble, on June 29.

    Sixty-two golfers, divided into 16 teams, most with four golfers, but two with three players, competed for prizes of $160, $120 and $100.

    Assistant Golf Professional Lucas Cromeenes said rain had been predicted, but never came, and all worked out well.

    At the end of the day, the team of Tom and Deb Yale, Philip Laughlin and Gene Fitzpatrick came out the winner, with a to par net of -23 and a total net of 48.

    In second place was the team of Bob and Melinda Welter, Al Ulrich and Mary Ann Corley, with a to par net of -19 and a total net of 53. Coming in third was the team of Ronnie Babcock, Chris Bertin, and Fred and Caren Levin, with a to par net of -17 and a total net of 54.

    Other teams were: Lindsay Gilbert, Sue Dosti, and Larry and Jamie Godin; Dennis Rice, Sue Rowe, George Craig and Nancy McEvoy; Andrew Brooks, Nikos Kazakos, Adam Sterrs and Chris Reid; Spike and Pam Lingel, Ben Teele and Phil Foster; Mark Gimbel, Bill Bailey, Win Giles and Preston Giles; Eric Gimbel, Jason Davis, Tim Daniels and Brent Profenno; Kyle Riggs, Ross Serino and Mat B.; Jamie Arnold, Brenda Blackman, Ronnie Arsenault and Henry Wyatt; Ted Nelson, Cheryl Nelson, Laurie Taylor and Christine Pothier; Rob Wheeler, Sandy Wheeler, Tom Blake and Laura Blake; Dianne Gimbel, Gretchen Gimbel, Judy Basiliere and Lori Bailey; Denny Wilson, Sue Wilson and David Butterworth; and Peter, Mary and Tori Ripley, and Pat Oberuch.
