Come take “one giant leap for mankind” at Damariscotta’s Lincoln Theater as we present “Apollo 11” (G) a cinematic event 50 years in the making! From director Todd Douglas Miller, “Apollo 11” takes us straight to the heart of NASA’s most celebrated mission – the one that first put men on the moon.

Complete with newly discovered 65 mm footage and more than 11,000 hours of uncatalogued audio recordings, you can now experience the mission that forever turned Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin into household names. “Apollo 11” will screen Wednesday, April 17 and Thursday, April 18 at 2 and 7 p.m.

We are excited to announce special guest Derek Webber will be joining us for a discussion and Q&A following both Wednesday screenings.

Webber, a Damariscotta resident, was involved in commercial space developments both in Europe and the U.S. for 50 years starting as a satellite and launch vehicle engineer, then directing procurement at international satellite operators. Later, as director of Spaceport Associates, he provided consulting services related to the business and regulatory foundations of space tourism and spaceports. Webber is a former docent guide at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., has met the crew of the Apollo 11 mission, and is currently seeking international agreement to protect the Apollo sites on the moon as key areas of cultural heritage.

Derek Webber is the author of three books about the history and development of space exploration and business, and provides space-related courses on the faculty of the Coastal Senior College, Maine.

Please join us for the incredible experience of “Apollo 11” on the big screen! The Lincoln Theater is located at 2 Theater Street.
