St Andrews Auxiliary: Coming soon to a nearby screen location

The St Andrews Auxiliary has developed several new membership initiatives designed to attract needed volunteers across our various St. Andrews healthcare facilities and the ever-active Thrift Shop.

Laura Zajdel, vice president of the Auxiliary, believes the organization has a compelling story and a rich history to share. She further believes that shining a spotlight on the good works of the Auxiliary will spark the enthusiasm necessary to entice members of the community to join the ranks of the organization to further its mission to encourage and support health and wellness on the Boothbay peninsula.

To this end, Zajdel’s new slideshow project will be launched on March 20 at the Auxiliary ‘Spring Bling’ Luncheon being hosted by St. Andrews Village. Members are being encouraged to “bring a friend” and be among the first to experience the new slideshow that will very soon be available for viewing on digital photo frames in five St. Andrews locations including the Village, St Andrews campus and the SA Thrift Shop. The idea is to clarify the Auxiliary role through captioned photos which capture not only the fun and camaraderie of social events, but also a visual account of Auxiliary sponsored scholarships, community service, donations of medical equipment and supplies, and volunteers at work in the community.

There is a current and ongoing need for additional volunteers at the Gregory Wing so look for membership forms wherever you see the digital photo displays; take a few and reach out to friends, newcomers and colleagues to join our efforts.

Volunteering is a way of life for many on the Boothbay peninsula. Join the Auxiliary and find out why. Membership forms are always available at the St Andrews Thrift Shop and questions can be directed to any of the “blue aprons” at the shop or contact Laura Zajdel at lczajdel@yahoo.com for more information.
