St. Andrews Village is pleased to welcome Mark McKenna, MLA, LSW, as executive director and administrator. McKenna has worked with seniors for more than 28 years and has held a multi-level nursing home administrator license since 2005.

“Ever since I was a child I have enjoyed getting to know seniors and helping others,” McKenna explained. “I am honored to be able to serve this community and be part of a team who values personalized, high quality, and compassionate care.”

As former administrator of a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in northern Maine, McKenna successfully brought the organization to a deficiency-free survey within 15 months of employment. During that same time, he brought the facility from an operating loss to a profit and increased patient census through marketing efforts and reputation management.

“We are thrilled Mark joined our team,” commented LincolnHealth Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Cindy Wade. “Mark brings with him extensive leadership experience and a passion for improving the lives of seniors.”

The full continuum of care and the dedicated, caring team are what led McKenna to St. Andrews Village. “You can join our community in an independent living cottage or apartment, and if your needs change, you can smoothly transition to another level of care on the same campus with familiar, friendly staff,” he explained. “The Village is more like a family because of this.”

McKenna recognizes the workforce shortage in health care, and believes there is opportunity to continue to create a culture that helps make LincolnHealth/St. Andrews Village the employer of choice. “We also have new leadership in nursing and one of our goals is to keep improving the work environment at the Village so it is enjoyable, positive, and promotes teamwork.”

A graduate of the University of Maine at Presque Isle, McKenna holds a bachelor of arts degree in behavioral science, psychological services track with a minor is social sciences.

McKenna is from Mapleton, Maine where his family has a small farm. He enjoys spending time outside, fishing, four wheeling, and especially spending time with family and friends.
