Tue, 09/18/2018 - 3:45pm

The Seahawks girls soccer team suffered a difficult loss on home turf to Telstar High School Sept. 17. The Seahawks started the game with three wins and two losses and Telstar, five losses. Less than 30 seconds after Telstar took the kickoff, it celebrated its first goal making it an uphill battle for the Seahawks as Telstar rallied with another three goals before halftime.

The Seahawks played a much stronger second half with #8 Reagan Cola scoring the only goal and working the ball upfield a number of times for a handful of shots on goal. Telstar scored twice more bringing the final score to 6-1. In goal was Emilie Crocker who made seven saves on the day.

“We were missing one of our senior captains due to injury, Hannah Cola, which hurt,” said Coach Matt Brewer.

Nevertheless, Brewer said it was not the Seahawks’ best effort on the field.

The team plays next at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19 and then at 4 p..m. Friday, Sept. 21 at home versus Carrabec High School.
