It is time for the famous BICA Halloween party when you have the opportunity to have dinner with Lady Gaga, Snoopy, Bill the plumber or maybe even Kim Jong-un. Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. is the date and the BICA hall is the place. So get your costume or hat ready. If you have been in the past you know about the fantastic prizes that are awarded for best in show in several categories.

Arlene, Irena and Barbara would like you to bring either an appetizer, main or side dish or a desert to share. If you are bringing guests kindly bring extra. Coffee and tea will be provided or you are welcome to bring your beverage of choice. And with these gals in charge you know the hall decorations will be over the top.

There was so much glitz at the September potluck you needed your sunglasses to cut the glare. And it wasn’t just the ladies who were showing off their sparkles as some of the gentlemen sported diamond bow ties and suspenders. Anne, with her second string team of Sally, Anne, and Irena filing in for Alice and Sharon, somehow found a space for all the food. It was an amazing spread of goodies. Louise shared some photos, along with their history, of some old buildings on the island. An informative presentation.

Please note the date change for next month’s potluck. It will be the second Wednesday of the month, Nov. 14. We will have a speaker from New Hope for Women and there will be a collection for the food pantry. More on that next month.
