Dear Editor:

I met Holly Stover soon after I moved to Southport, almost 10 years ago. She was speaking at a public meeting, and she mentioned concerns about several problems that the Boothbay Harbor Region needed to deal with to improve the quality of life for many working families who were struggling to make ends meet.

After the meeting, I contacted her and asked her to meet Sandy and me for breakfast, so we could share some ideas about those concerns.

We had an in depth conversation, and it was clear that Holly cared a great deal about the people on the peninsula, and that she knew her stuff. I had been spending quite a bit of time in Augusta, advocating for seniors and disabled people’s rights, and it was obvious that she was well informed about every topic that I brought up.

We left that breakfast with a sense of having met a kindred spirit, and hopeful that she was making a difference for the citizens of the Boothbay region.

Over the past several years my respect for Holly has continued to grow, as she has stepped up to work on some of the most critical concerns of our towns.

She has helped get many lives back on track, provided incredible support to our law enforcement, and worked to ensure the health and safety of all our citizens. She makes this area a better place to live for everyone. 

Let’s put Holly’s vast knowledge and experience to work by supporting her and voting for her to represent us in Augusta.
