“Perfect Days” -  (PG; 2 hours, 3 minutes - In Japanese with English subtitles) - Hirayama seems utterly content with his simple life as a cleaner of toilets in Tokyo. Outside of his very structured everyday routine he enjoys his passion for music and for books. And he loves trees and takes photos of them. A series of unexpected encounters gradually reveal more of his past. A deeply moving and poetic reflection on finding beauty in the everyday world around us. Oscar Nominee for Best International Feature Film and Cannes Film Festival Best Actor winner, Koji Yakusho. Final showtimes Wednesday, March 27 at 2 and 7 PM. 

“Mississippi Burning” - (1988; 2 hours, 5 minutes) -  Screen Thoughts Film Series - When a group of civil rights workers goes missing in a small Mississippi town, FBI agents Alan Ward (Willem Dafoe) and Rupert Anderson (Gene Hackman) are sent in to investigate. Local authorities refuse to cooperate with them, and the African American community is afraid, precipitating a clash between the two agents over strategy. “Mississippi Burning,” is the second film in the new film series – Screen Thoughts, hosted by writer and film reviewer Christine Merser. This first season’s focus is America’s Racial Struggles on the Screen. Christine will present a brief introduction to each film as well as a post-screening talk. Playing for two screenings only Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m. and Friday, March 29 at 2 p.m.

“The Teachers’ Lounge” - (PG-13; 1 hour, 34 minutes - In German with English subtitles) - Carla Nowak, a dedicated sports and math teacher, starts her first job at a high school, standing out among the staff because of her idealism. When a series of thefts occur at the school and one of her students is suspected, she decides to get to the bottom of the matter on her own, trying to mediate between outraged parents, opinionated colleagues and aggressive students. Oscar nominee for Best International Feature Film. Playing Friday, March 29 at 7 p.m.; at 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 and Wednesday, April 3; Thursday, April 4 at 2 p.m.
