Why Trump will carry the day in November

Mon, 09/10/2018 - 4:30pm

    Dear Editor:

First, Trump’s tax cut/deregulation economy continues to soar: GDP growth is up, the S&P 500 is exploding, unemployment rates are at record lows, millions of jobs are being added, hourly wages are up, and voters who are undecided may well choose not to upset the gravy train.

Second, Trump won the 2016 election because he rallied individual Americans to become part of a larger “we” and “us” collective, rather than the divisive Hillary/Obama mantra of “us” vs. “them,” and this successful grassroots strategy will undoubtedly carry over to the GOP midterm campaigns.

Third, Trump’s basic message is simple, consistent, and unwavering: secure borders, a stronger military, and true freedom of speech. Conversely, the increasingly sorry Democrats have no real platform to stand on, other than “Trump this” and “Trump that,” and it’s hard to win a midterm by having nothing to offer other than despising an elected president.

And so, let us all calm down, sit back, and simply enjoy the show to come.
