In light air conditions, Ella Beauregard and Hamilton Barclay could not finish the first and only race Saturday in the 2018 New England C420 Championships held at Wadawanuck Yacht Club in Stonington, Connecticut.

Luckily that race was abandoned and no further racing occurred Saturday. Sunday saw an early start and the Boothbay pair sailed well in the first race finishing 9th out of 72 boats. They sailed even better the second race with a clean start and won the race. Their third race was not so good finishing 22nd. In the fourth race, it was back to the top ten for the duo with a 6th. In the fifth and final race, they missed strengthening breeze on the left side of the course and finished 28th. Overall they were the 9th place boat out of 72.

Combined with a 2nd place finish at the Youth Challenge Regatta at Sail Newport two weeks ago, the Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club sailors are ready to compete with the best in New England at the Junior Olympics and Bemis Qualifier here in Boothbay Harbor July 9-11.
