A lot of laughter, lightheartedness and reminiscing is what Class Day is all about at Boothbay Region High School and the Class of 2018 didn’t disappoint.

For the first time ever, graduates were allowed to decorate an extra cap for the morning ceremony and most took the job very seriously.

Resource Officer Larry Brown handed out three of his “bleacher plaques” to JoAnna Shaw, Jay Hasch and Page Brown, with help and comments from Lisa Clarke, Nick Scott and Donna Jordan, respectively.

Class statistics were delivered by Jay Hasch and  Cameron Crocker, class history was provided by Hayden Brewer and Sierra Murray, and the class prophecy was “predicted” by Eli Gudroe and Jake Brewer; their bit was quite funny, with a running theme of their trip from Maine to Florida to Texas and onto California, with classmate Hunter Arsenault taking the brunt of most of the dialogue. Lilly Sherburne served as the class optimist, while Isabelle Curtis played the part of the class pessimist.

Class gifts were presented by five graduates – Jackie McLoon, Sydney Meader, JoAnna Shaw, Madison Gaudette and Evy Case.

Kayla Lewis, ReAnna Heino, Tori Morin and Madeleine McLellan presented a great gift to the school from the class. Having raised a surplus through various accounts in their four years, the class gifted the school over $2,500 for new speakers for the gym and a new microwave oven for the cafeteria.

The event concluded with a 15-minute slide and music show featuring over 300 photos of the class as infants coupled with their yearbook photos, and many photos of the graduates through the years, enjoying time together.
