The Hallowell Community Band played many classic American tunes and marches the night of July 4 just before the fireworks.

For over 60 years, residents and visitors to the region have been enjoying free weekly summer time concerts by the Hallowell Community Band on the Boothbay Harbor Memorial lawn. David Collier, the band's new director, continues the tradition of welcoming youthful guest conductors during part of the program. Guest musicians are welcome too. The varied playlist includes tunes from musicals, jazz standards, marches as well as other genres. Bring your lawn chair or blanket to the library lawn Thursday nights at 7:30 p.m. throughout the summer to experience a slice of Americana.
